WASTE TO WATER & NUTRIENT REUSE

IWS looks for the opportunities in waste, including lost opportunities from the lack of recapturing nutrients contained in waste, and the reuse and recycling of treated waste water. The potential for water recycling and nutrient recapture is the basis of sustainable agricultural and industrial practices, and make waste treatment technologies more economically viable.

WASTE TO ENERGY

Energy is another opportunity that is often times captured inefficiently or lost entirely. Waste to energy can take many different forms, including: biogas, biofuels, heat energy, pyrolysis, etc. These opportunities are typically overlooked or do not financially work out due to waste sources being looked at individually rather than considering all wastes sources generated locally. Additional opportunities which exist today, and will likely become more valuable in the future are greenhouse gas capture and carbon dioxide sequestering.
